For the past three years, Yapı Kredi has been the main sponsor of !f Istanbul AFM International Independent Film Festival, which provides Turkish moviegoers the chance to see independent films as an alternative to mainstream movies. The sixth annual !f Istanbul festival was held in 2007. Since 2002, the event had been organized only in Istanbul; however, in 2007, the festival was held in Ankara for the first time. Extraordinary films of international independent filmmakers are shown during the festivals.
